Wreaths Across America and NC Grown Frazer Fir Wreath Fundraiser

Just a word about Wreaths Across America...It's spring and your thoughts are not about Christmas or wreaths, however, we want to remember our Veterans in a big way at the wreath laying in December.  Placing the wreaths on their graves shows the support we have not only for their service and sacrifice, but for those men and women currently serving.  It must be great comfort to Veterans' families and to the families of our active military to see those beautiful wreaths in the National Cemetery.  Let's start now thinking about those who've served and are still serving and honor them by sponsoring a wreath to be laid on soldiers' graves in our National Cemetery in December. We can sponsor wreaths all year long--don't wait until the Christmas rush is on and you don't have time.  …. Think about it now -- on Memorial Day, Flag Day, July Fourth, Veteran’s Day -- whenever you remember someone -- whenevery someone dies.  Any member desiring to sponsor a wreath may send a WAA form and their check directly to WAA as we have been doing.  Additionally, this year the Lord Craven Chapter will send a letter of acknowledgement at your request to someone for you when you sponsor a wreath in their honor or to the family when you sponsor a wreath in memory of a veteran.  It’s a lovely way to let people know you appreciate their service or the service of their loved one.  We will have a Chapter Acknowledgement form at our May meeting.  After you have sent in your WAA form and check to WAA, fill out the chapter’s form and give it or mail it to Pat Gooding  (at 234 Baroney Place Drive, Sunset Beach, NC 28468).  See Fran Carlsen and Becky DeSilva for forms and details.

Tremendous thanks to all those who supported our NC Grown Frazer Fir Wreath Fundraiser. You can see from our proposed budget how much the additional funds helped us achieve the purposes of Colonial Dames 17th Century. Let's plan to start in September and do even better this time!
