The Lord Craven members of Colonial Dames are Celebrating the Life of James D. “Dick” Thompson born September 3, 1916 and died June 5, 2014.  Dick was the husband of Doris Thompson one of our Lord Craven Colonial Dames Chapter members. Her husband Dick was a guest speaker at the February 21, 2009 meeting which was held at the Carolina Bar-b-cue in Wilmington. It is located on Lake Wheeler Road in Raleigh.

Dick had served as a member of the Board of Directors since 1997. The Mill is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is the only restored operational automatic mill in NC and only a few in the country. For more information call (919) 856-6675 or visit www.yatesmill.org.
