May 18, 2019 Lord Craven Colonial Dames 17 Century Meeting


New Officers for 2019-2021 were sworn in by Marie Preston at the May 18,  2019 Lord Craven Colonial Dames 17th Century meeting, which was held at the Carolina BBQ in Wilmington, NC.

                              Marie Preston swore in the new officers at the Lord Craven Colonial Dames 17th Century meeting.

Former President Pat Gooding places the  Lord Craven President's  pin on Cindy Sellers.  This pin is passed ceremonially from outgoing President to incoming President each new term.

Lord Craven Colonial Dames 17C  member, Nora Hickam was the guest speaker during the May 2019 meeting. The program topic was, "the Lost State of Franklin." American Legion Post 543 will host the community's annual Memorial Day ceremony at 11:00 AM


American Legion Post 543 will host the community's annual Memorial Day ceremony at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 27, 2019 at the St. James Community Center, Southport, NC.  All local residents are invited. to attend. Colors will be presented by the Post Honor Guard, the National Anthem will be sung and a memorial wreath will be placed followed by Taps. Ms Lois Moore, will sing patriotic songs.

This year, the American Legion will perform the poignant POW/MIA Missing Man Table tableau as part of the larger ceremony.

Lord Craven Chapter Colonial Dames 17th Century will be Saturday, May 18 at 11:30

The next meeting of the Lord Craven Chapter Colonial Dames 17th Century will be Saturday, May 18 at 11:30 at Carolina BBQ in Wilmington.  The program is one you will not want to miss.  The program, the Lost State, will be given by our own Nora Hickam.  After a brief business meeting, new officers for the 2019-2021 term will be installed.  I look forward to seeing everyone at
the meeting.
