May 16th Lord Craven Colonial Dames Meeting
The Lord Craven Colonial Dames meeting was held on May 16, 2015 at The Carolina BBQ in Wilmington, NC.
New officers were sworn in at the May 16th Lord Craven meeting.
Pat Gooding, Vice-President; Linda Rivenbark, Recording Secretary; Carol Jutte, Registrar; Ruth-Anne Bolz, President; Marie Preston, Chaplain; officers not in photo are Pat Elsaesser, Treasurer: Diane Kuebert, Corresponding Secretary; Historian/Librarian, Mary Earp Chaplain and Carole Weiss, prior President.
President Carole Weiss presented each of the officers with a good-by yellow rose.
Carol Weiss welcomes Ruth-Anne Bolz as the new Lord Craven President for the next two years.

The Crossnore School donated a beautiful shawl pictured above for our chapter to raffle this year to make additional funds for the 2nd annual Wounded Warrior Luncheon in October. It is a beautiful sage green with a light cream in the weave on the side. Anyone interested in tickets should contact Lisa English at 910-289-5730.
Cynthia Avent was the speaker at the May 16th Lord Craven meeting. Her topic of discussion ws the Magna Carta. Ruth-Anne Bolz gave a presentation on the History of the Huguenots.

Subject: War of 1812 event in Wilmington February 15, 2015
As the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 is quickly drawing to a close, we wanted to be sure that you and your organization were aware of an event in Wilmington, NC on February 15, 2015:
Four institutions have come together to present one of North Carolina’s closing events for the Bicentennial of the War of 1812. St. James Episcopal Church in Wilmington, St. John’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville, The Fayetteville Independent Light Infantry, and the Fayetteville AreaTransportation and Local History Museum will host a War of 1812 Commemoration Ceremony at :
St. James Episcopal Church on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. This program honors the service of the Fayetteville Independent Light Infantry during the war as well as three servicemen buried in the churchyard at St. James. It also celebrates the long-standing ties between the cities of Wilmington and Fayetteville and the parishes of St. James and St. John’s. The keynote speaker for the event is Dr. Kevin Cherry, Deputy Secretary for Archives and History, North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources.

Lord Craven Chapter Colonial Dames 17th Century Meeting Scheduled for 12:00 on February 21st
Our next Lord Craven meeting is February 21, 2015 at Noon at Carolina
BBQ ion South College Ave. in Wilmington, NC. Please note the time change. This is due to the
Moore's Creek Celebration in the morning.
Our speaker is Jeff Holcomb who will tell us
about a very interesting, 'modern' woman "Eleanor of Aquitaine."
