National Vietnam War Veterans Day is a US holiday observed annually on March 29. It recognizes veterans who served in the US military during the Vietnam War. It should not be confused with Veterans Day.
The National Society North Carolina Colonial Dames 17th Century Lord Craven Chapter was organized December 30, 1961 in Wilmington, NC. Many of our programs highlight colonial heritage, research, and records. Contact President Jane Johnson at jjatbhi@bellsouth.net or blog manager Phyllis Wilson at par4wilson@gmail.com

The National Society North Carolina Colonial Dames 17th Century Lord Craven Chapter Held a Zoom Meeting on February 20, 2021
The Lord Craven Colonial Dames meeting was held on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at 10:30. Pat Gooding hosed us, a former Lord Craven president, and regent of the Brunswick Town DAR Chapter. This meeting was jointly held with the newly formed Cape Fear Chapter of Daughters of American Colonists.
The guest speaker was Brett Riggs, who enchanted us last year with his knowledge of the truth about piracy. This time his topic was "Political Differences between the Colonies before the Revolution."

Wreaths Across America if Offering a 2 foro 1 Sale. Buy 1 Wreath Get a Second Wreath for Free!
Wreaths Across America is offering a 2 for 1 Sale. This is a great deal. Even if you already bought wreaths last year this is this year and if you buy them now you will get double your order. Then maybe we can put a wreath on every grave this December 18th. I am helping all groups that are sponsoring wreaths. Call at 910-253-1474 or e-mail me at par4wilson@gmail.com and I will help you order a wreath for the organization you want to sponsor. The goal here is to put a wreath on every grave in 2021. We came close this year to doing that. We placed 3,825 wreaths on Veterans graves. We needed 1,301 wreaths. If the same people who ordered wreaths for this year, they would get double the amount, which could put us just where we want next year on December 18, 2019, which is the date to place next year’s wreaths on graves.
If you want to order a wreath by check contact Fran Carlsen, your Wreaths Across America Chair and she will help you with this order. darfran@earthlink.com

Happy New Year Dames!
Today we celebrate the 59th birthday of Lord Craven Chapter. On December 30, 1961, a group of ladies under the leadership of Jeannette Cox St Amand met in Wilmington and organized the new chapter of the Colonial Dames of the Seventeenth Century, selecting the name Lord Craven, one of the Lords Proprietors. Our thanks go to Mrs. St Amand and all those early ladies of Lord Craven Chapter for their foresight.
Thanks.
