Lord Craven chapter is again selling the North Carolina wreaths that we sold last year. It was a successful fund raiser for us and we hope that members will again support this effort and encourage friends and family to purchase one or more of these beautiful wreaths. Shipping costs have increased and the price of the wreath this year is $22. The price is right and they make lovely gifts. The wreaths will be delivered to Mary Earp by Dec 6 for pickup at her home.
Attached are two flyer options to use as advertisement in selling the wreaths. Even though one option shows a bow, they do not come with bows, so be sure to make that fact known to potential buyers. The other option shows one of last year's wreath as a door decoration.
Checks should be made out to Lord Craven Chapter, CD XVIIC & sent to Pat Elsaesser or bring them to our next meeting on Nov 15th. Our deadline for getting the orders in is Nov 20.
Pat will keep a count of the number of wreaths ordered by each member.
Each member should keep a list of their people, their contact information & the number of wreaths each one ordered.
Thank you,
Carole Weiss

The Lord Craven members are Celebrating the Life of James D. “Dick” Thompson
The Lord Craven members of Colonial Dames are Celebrating the Life of James D. “Dick”
Thompson born September 3, 1916 and died June 5, 2014. Dick was the husband of Doris Thompson one of
our Lord Craven Colonial Dames Chapter members. Her husband Dick was a guest
speaker at the February 21, 2009 meeting which was held at the Carolina
Bar-b-cue in Wilmington. Dick resided in Brunswick County and had been
recognized for his efforts to restore the 1756 gristmill, which is the
centerpiece of Historic Yates Mill County Park. It is located on Lake Wheeler
Road in Raleigh.
Dick had served as a member of the Board of Directors since 1997. The Mill is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is the only restored operational automatic mill in NC and only a few in the country. For more information call (919) 856-6675 or visit www.yatesmill.org.
