The Lord Craven Chapter Colonial Dames 17th Century Meeting Was Held on September 17, 2022

 

                   

You might be wondering why Phyllis and Carol are wearing different outfits. Yes, Carol wanted a photo of them together with Phyllis receiving her award. 

Phyllis Wilson, blog manager since 2011 received a certificate for outstanding service maintaining the chapter's blog plus getting publicity in the newspaper, and helping maintain the Wreaths Across America program. Phyllis also received a gift certificate to Falcone's her favorite restaurant in Southport, from the Lord Craven Chapter of Colonial Dames.

                        Joyce Vanatter, Carol Jutte's sister won a cockade at the Lord Craven meeting.

       New member Michelle Russel won a black totes bag.

The Board of Management meeting will be a one-day meeting open to all members. Again, this year we will not have Chapter Reports and we will continue to have a couple of informative sessions. One session will be with State Officers to ask questions and exchange ideas. Another session will be “Tips and Traps” given by Dianne Janis, Heraldry & Coats of Arms State Chairman. Chapter Presidents: Please forward this Call to the BOM meeting to your members. Note: Masks are not required but please wear if you feel uncomfortable.

Memorial Day

 

St James American Legion Post 543 is holding the traditional Memorial Day ceremony at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 30th in front of the Veterans Memorial at the St. James Town Hall.

 Highlights of the ceremony include the presentation of the Colors, singing of the National Anthem and other patriotic songs, and honoring local Gold Star families. Amazing Grace will be played on the bagpipes. A memorial wreath will be placed at the Veterans Memorial followed by the playing of Taps by the bugler.

The public is encouraged to attend and join the veterans of Post 543 in remembering those who loved our country enough to pay the ultimate sacrifice in the defense of freedom. Seating will be available.
