Once an apt headquarters for the Historic Wilmington Foundation - a non-profit aimed at preserving the city's rich architectural history - and now home to the City Club of Wilmington, the DeRosset house was once just that – the residence of doctor and merchant Armand John DeRosset III and his family. The Lord Craven May meeting for 2023 was held at The City Club in Wilmington, NC. Thank you Dale Spencer for making the arrangements.

Pat Gooding and I were off and running to start our week of attending 3 different National Lineage Societies National Conferences. The first event for the start of the NSCDXVIIC National Conference was attending the Open House and Tea at Headquarters with a meet and greet. We attended the Registrar General’s Workshop, Conference Meetings, Awards Luncheon, Achievement Luncheon, Memorial Service, and the Banquets in the evening with fiddle music and the National Choir.

Zack Lemhouse, an accomplished musician with over 25 years of experience playing the violin was the guest speaker. Zack was inducted into the North Carolina Hall of Fame in 2020. Zack plays traditional Scottish fiddle music and teaches annually at the Jink and Dibble School of Scottish Fiddle, a Scottish Fiddle camp held in the mountains of North Carolina every summer. The music Zack played from his fiddle sounded as if he was playing the bagpipes.
